Swiss building materials manufacturer expects to expand its presence in France

Swiss-based Holcim announces the acquisition of Chrono Chape, one of the leading independent suppliers of self-levelling screeds in France. These liquid applications are used to create a smooth, even base on which builders can lay floor coverings such as carpet or tile. Using an innovative fleet of mixer trucks that mix and apply the screeds directly at the customer’s construction site, Chrono Chape controls the amount of materials needed for each operation with pedantic precision, providing a “zero waste” service. The combination of innovation and efficiency has resulted in Chrono Chape’s reputation in the marketplace achieving double-digit growth in recent years.

Miljan Gutovic, Holcim’s Head of European Region: “I am pleased to acquire Chrono Chape as another step in advancing our “Strategy 2025 – Accelerating Green Growth”. With this transaction, we will expand our services and geographic presence in France.”

Chrono Chape was founded in 2005 in Longo Pluveau, near Dijon, France. As part of the Holcim network, Chrono Chape is expected to provide strong synergies with the company’s extensive ready-mix concrete manufacturing presence throughout France.
